The Fresco by Sherri S. Tepper - This book is hard to summarize since there is so much offensiveness going on. From the list it has: reproductive choice, any gods mentioned other than christian god, criticism of the united states of america, and unwed (male) pregnancy. As a bonus there are also aliens smarter than humans!!
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett - This one has a group of satanic nuns who deliver the anti-christ to the wrong family. And that's just the start of the book.

If you are going by the best/banned lists in choosing, the highest ranking banned books that also appear on most best books lists are "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings," "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," and "Of Mice and Men." If not, forget I said any of this... carry on!

I've been dying for an excuse to read Harriet the Spy. It's been on my mind for a while. I loved that book when I was a kid!!!!
